Now here’s one that registers at around a 9 on the Si-ometer (as shown in fig.1 above)

An entirely invented band (but then, which band isn’t?) that allows me to indulge in my most blatant psychedelic/classic 60’s rock inclinations. I’m still fascinated by the mind-bending navel-gazing and inner searching of the time, and it seems in retrospect to have been a really free atmosphere in which to create. A sun-soaked optimism that’s probably only a third of the actual reality of the time. Still, a beautiful invented reality to occasionally get caught up in. Here, I’m firmly swimming in that Sgt Pepper era Beatles pool; there’s elements of the Doors and absolutely the Kinks as well. Dare I say Brian Wilson pops in from time to time as well, just to check everything’s interesting enough?

‘Grandfather Paradox’ is a concept album from 1967, dancing from physics to metaphysics, through time travel and space exploration. A few of my pet pop-sci subjects… There’s also one about a narrowly avoided punchup in a pub. And a freeform 10 minute drum solo, to keep things contemporaneous.

“Gravitional Wave” - the demo of which is embedded below - is a hypercharged, ‘The Move’-esque romp through to the other end of the solar system. Hope you like fractals!

Take a look at the ‘Projects Overview’ page for an idea of my other made up bands and output.
