VARIOUS OTHER CONCOCTIONS
The Ten Ton Trucks
This one kind of does exist, after a fashion - read all about the ‘exploits’ of this band of hairy-arsed wool-botherers by clicking the link below.
October Jones
Think Elvis Costello meets Blur meets the Smiths. For when I’m trying to be purposefully clever/contrite/entertainingly morose. Maybe a touch of Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave in there too for good measure.
The Silent Gathering
Sombre, darker and more heavily guitar driven than my other avenues. For smoky clubs (so it’s probably a period piece from before the smoking ban) filled with lost souls and fuzz junkies. Would sit comfortably on the bill with QOTSA, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Royal Blood.
The Revisions
Technically a cover artist, so also appears in the Artistic Endeavours page. Smushing up the vibes and atmosphere of classic 60’s and early 70’s soul into the Beatles catalogue, hopefully to stirring effect. The aim is an album of ear-titillating versions of some of the best and a few of the lesser known Fab classics, all tarted up in funk-soul clothing, as well as a live experience of some kind. This will be under the “I Wanna Soul Your Band” banner…
